1. The name of the Society is "THE BRITISH COLUMBIA HANG GLIDING
AND PARAGLIDING ASSOCIATION."
- 2. The purpose of the Society are:
a) To engage in the non-commercial development, study and safe
use (Motion 1979) of hang gliders and other flight systems capable
of being foot launched and to make knowledge of these subject (sic)
available to the public Motion 1979);
b) to make knowledge relating to these subjects available to the
public;
c) To obtain the advantages of group participation in the flying
of hang gliders and other flight systems through the encouragement
of good construction practices and safe flying techniques through
safety seminars, newsletters, and coaching development;
d) To organize meets where the testing (sic) flying of such systems
may be carried out;
e) To encourage strong support of liaison between the BCHPA and
local clubs, municipal, provincial and federal governments, Transport
Canada and the Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association of Canada.
f) To operate exclusively as a charitable (Motion 1979) organisation
for the objects aforesaid.
3. Upon the dissolution of the Association and after payment of
all debts and liabilities, the remaining property of the Society
shall be distributed or disposed of to one or more recognised charitable
organisations in Canada, the objects of which are similar to those
of the Society and this clause shall at all times remain unalterable.
4. That the said Society shall not, at present, or in the future,
operate, run, engage in, take part in, or allow to operate on premises
under their control any games of chance, or mixed skill and chance,
and that this clause shall, at all times, remain unalterable.
